Yonaguni, here we come!!

Today was the first day of our Yonaguni Tour in February.
The guests were Elle and Rom. Yeah, we made it!!

The weather was a lot warmer than Okinawa mainland and it really was like summer.

The 1st dive was a check dive at Iseki, "The Underwater Monument". What a luxury check dive!!
Started from the Gate.

The Double Stone.

Very big.

The Drain.

The Triangle pool.

The Turtle Monument.

And a turtle showed up.

And a nudie branch as well.

Yonaguni blue.

We did our 2nd dive at Irizaki for hammerhead sharks and saw two swimming a bit in the distance.
We had a great start of the tour after all.

And tomorrow we are planning to chase more hammerheads, why not!



やってきました与那国島！

今日は待ちに待った与那国ツアーの初日。
天気は快晴まるで夏、水温も２５度台と、もう気持ちが高ぶりが溢れてハジ出るかの様なコンディション。

ゲストは、本島で２日間一緒に潜ってくれたエルとロム。楽しもーぜー。

１本目はチェックダイブだけどポイントはかの有名な海底遺跡。なんてぜいたくなチェックダイブ。。。

抜群の透明度の中、城門、二枚岩、テラス、側溝、三角プール、カメのモニュメント、等々じっくり味わってきました。

そして２本目は、待ってました、イリザキ！！ハンマー狙いです。
エントリー後にいきなり２匹が登場と言うロケットスタートをかまし、その後も期待感は半端無かったけど、残念今日はそれだけでした。

とは言え、まあ素晴らしい初日になりました。

明日は本格的にハンマー狙ってきます！

Today we went to Cape Kin to finish up Advanced Scuba Diver course.

The guests were Elle and Rom.
Elle was finishing the course and Rom tagged along after it.

We did a deep diving, compass navigation and low visibility diving.
Elle got a lot more comfortable than yesterday. Great improvement.

And there were many creatures to see today.
Nudie branches.

Mimic octopus!!!
This guy is amazing. He does not only camouflage but also copies a shape of fishes so looks like a real fish. Not today, though.

Also we saw lion fish, sea snakes, moray eels, crabs, etc.

And Congratulations Elle on completing your Advanced Scuba Diver course!!
Now you are ready to try some adventurous diving so enjoy various types of diving. For a start, Yonaguni island to chase hammerhead sharks yeeeeey!!
It's been two weeks since we cancelled the January trip due to the rough weather. Can't wait to see hammerheads.

今日は金武岬までアドバンススクーバダイバーコースの２日目を行いにいってきました。

ゲストはエルとロム。コースを行うエルに、ロムが付き添いつつリフレッシュダイビングする、って感じでした。

今日の内容はと言うと、ディープダイビング、コンパスナビゲーション、視界が悪い中でのダイビングライトの使い方、等です。
エルは昨日に較べたら格段の上達。中性浮力のとり方もかなりコツを掴んだみたい。

講習とは言え、もちろん生物も見てきました。
たくさんのウミウシ、どデカいミノカサゴ、ウミヘビにウツボ、そして最後には形を変えて色んな魚にそっくりになる、激レア・ミミックオクトパスも登場。かなりテンション上がりました。

そんなこんなで、おめでとうエル、無事アドバンスコース終了です！！
これからは色んなタイプのダイビングに挑戦出来るね。どんどん潜ってって。

そしてその手始めに明後日から与那国ツアー！！！
一月の悪夢のツアーキャンセルから待ちに待った今回。待ってろトンカチアタマ達。

Today we went to Gorilla Chop for Advanced Scuba Course.

The guest was Elle from Australia.

We worked mainly on finning techniques and buoyancy control today.

Learning frog kicks, which is a very efficient finning technique and will cut down on you air consumption a lot.

Perfect buoyancy control.

A family of anemone fishes.

And we found a tiny frog fish while practicing frog kicks, haha.

Thanks Elle for your hard work today.
I think you improved a lot.
And tomorrow we will do more interesting dives including deep dive and compass navigation, so please look forward to it.

今日はゴリラチョップでアドバンススクーバダイバーコースを行ってきました。

ゲストはエル、オーストラリアからです。

今日は大部分をフィンキックと中性浮力のとり方の練習に費やしました。
最初は悪戦苦闘してたエルも、時間とともにコツを掴み始めました。

そしてフロッグキックと言う、水泳の平泳ぎの蹴り方に似たフィンの使い方の練習をして泳いでたら、何とカエルアンコウに出会う！というミラクルも起こり、ラッキー。

エル、今日は寒い中おつかれさま。
明日はディープダイビングやコンパスナビゲーションもやるよ。もう少し頑張ろーね。

Intro diving @ Cape Maeda / 体験ダイビング＠真栄田岬

Beautiful silhouette in the cave!

Today we went to Cape Maeda for intro diving.

The guests were a couple from India.

The condition was tougher than we thought so they struggled in the beginning to get used to the water.
However, as time went by, they got very comfortable with the water.

A shot with anemone fishes.

And there were few divers in the Blue Cave so we had plenty of time to enjoy it.

How was the first time scuba diving? Hope you enjoyed it. And it will be different if you dive in summer so please try again when you have time.

今日は真栄田岬・青の洞窟で体験ダイビングをしてきました。

ゲストはインドからの２人。初めてのダイビングらしく、朝からテンション高めでした。

予報だと昼過ぎまでは海は穏やかそうな感じだったけど、午前中にいざ海に出ると結構な荒れ模様。
そんな中最初は水に慣れるのに手こずった２人だったけど、時間が経つに連れてリラックスして、最後はもう目の前を横切る魚に片っ端から指差して楽しんでました。
青の洞窟もほぼ貸し切り状態で楽しめ、いいダイビングになりました。

２人とも今日はありがとね。
初めてのダイビングはどうだった？楽しかったでしょ？
また夏に潜ると全然違うから、時間があったらまたチャレンジしてみて。

では残りの滞在も楽しんでってねー。

Today we had Scuba Diver course Day3 at Gorilla Chop.

The guests were, yes, Victor and Cindy.
Very comfortable with the water by today.

Although it was even colder than yesterday, the visibility was good.

Beautiful soft corals.

They got very good at buoyancy control. What a quick learner!!

And we bumped into a nudie branch in the end and I got very excited while they didn't know what this tiny creature was.

Bye bye Gorilla Chop. Will have to see you soon, I guess.

Congratulations Cindy and Victor on completing Scuba Diver course. 

I felt sorry about the cold weather but was very impressed that you guys never said any complaint and just tried hard. You guys truly deserve it!! 

Please come back here sometime warmer and I will take you to the islands to show you turtles, sharks or whatever cool then.

今日はゴリラチョップでスクーバダイバーコースの最終日を行ってきました。

ゲストは頑張り屋の２人、シンディーとビクトールです。

今日は昨日よりも更に寒かったけど、透明度は抜群。ソフトコーラルは色鮮やかで、曇ってはいたけど白い砂地も綺麗でした。はい、プラス思考で行きましょー。

そして２人。もうこの天気・コンディション・寒さには申し訳なかったけど、ネガティブなことは何一つ言わずに頑張ってました。もう頭が下がる思いです。
そしてその甲斐あってか、見違えるほどの上達。中性浮力も結構とれてたし、スゴいね。自分の最初の頃ってどんなだったろう？なんて思ったりしました。

はい、２０１６年一発目の認定です。
シンディー、ビクトール、おめでとう！！
ホンッットに良く頑張った！素晴らしい！
また暖かい時にぜひ潜りに来て。カメでもサメでも見に行こう。その時を楽しみにしてます。

February kicks off!!
Today we had Scuba Diver course at Sunabe Seawall, then headed to Gorilla Chop since the sea got rough.

The guests were Cindy and Victor from yesterday.
It was cold today. I did wish they could have dove in a warm water under the sun.

Gorilla Chop was very nice and calm. We will be here at least several more times during winter for sure.

Due to the cold weather and wavy condition - Sunabe Seawall, they struggled in the beginning. However, they improved a lot and were very comfortable in the water in the end.

Great job today, Cindy and Victor.
I did feel sorry for the cold weather but was impressed so much about your hard work.
Now we go deeper tomorrow and get the skills done!

暦も変わり今日から２月。そして嬉しくないけどメチャメチャ寒い！

そんな今日はスクーバダイバーコースを行いに、まずは砂辺、その後海況が荒れてきたので北部のゴリチョまで行ってきました。

ゲストは昨日に続いてシンディーとビクトール。昨日は良く眠れたみたいです。

寒さとバシャついたコンディションのせいか、はじめは２人ともちょっと苦戦しました。でもそりゃそうだ、今日が初めての海でのダイビング。もっと暖かい海で潜らせたあげたいなー。
でも時間を追うごとにどんどん慣れていき、最後にはメチャメチャ落ち着いてました。

２人とも今日は寒い中おつかれさま。ホントよく頑張ったね。
明日はもう少し深く行き、必須スキルをこなしてこう。

ではでは寒さに気をつけて、また明日。

Today we had Scuba Diver course starting in a swimming pool.

The candidates were Victor and Cindy from Taiwan. Can't wait to hit the water.

We spent 1.5hours in a pool and now they are ready to dive in the sea.

Tomorrow we will dive with the fishes, so it's gonna be a lot more fun!

今日はスクーバダイバーコースの一日目をプールで行ってきました。

ゲストはビクターとシンディー、台湾からです。

まずは学科のおさらいをして、その後プールへ。
器材のセッティングを習ったあとは、いざ水の中へ。普段の生活との勝手の違いに戸惑いながらも、無事スキルをこなして今日は終了。

２人とも今日は朝早い出発から、おつかれさま。
明日はいよいよ海に行きます。魚やサンゴも居るよー。楽しみにしてて。
