Wow it's the end of January already. So spring is almost there?
But it was so cold and windy today. I would say it was not the best day to dive. However, I had four brave students who didn't care how cold it was, so went north for Scuba Diver course Day2.

Here are the four bravest men.

Everyone was very good underwater. All the skill I asked to do were done smoothly. I was so impressed.

Thanks everyone for coming diving in a cold weather like this. Now let's get our fingers crossed for the coming Sunday. Hope we have a good condition and have nice dives.

気づけば一月も今日で終わり。ってことはもう春はすぐそこ。今日潜った北部では“桜祭り”なんてことも行われていました。
でもでもそんなことにはお構いなく、今日は問答無用に寒いっ！風も強くお世辞にもダイビング行きたいね、なんて言えない様なコンディション。そんな中４人の勇敢な生徒がスクーバダイバーコースの第２日目を行いに来てくれたので、気合い入れて潜って来ました。

そんな生徒は、先週末プール講習をサクサクッと終えた４人組、ジョナス、ジェロム、カズミ、サイモン。
今日は初めての海でのダイビングだったけど、もうスイスイ。強いて言えば耳抜きに少し手こずった人もいたけど、全体としては何の問題もなくスキルをこなしていきました。アッパレ。

みんな今日は寒い仲良く頑張りました。次回の来週末はいいコンディションになることを祈ろう。

What a beautiful day today!! Why don't we go diving?

So today, we had a Scuba Diver course starting with six students!!
Students were from the college up north. From the right, Kazumi, Jonas, Jerome, Sandra, Iraida and Simon. They are from France, USA, England and Venezuela. It is a pretty international group.

Studying seriously? No, just filling up an application form.

Checking the water temperature. Not bad.

We practiced basic skills for 1hour and half. Since it was a big group, some struggled, some had no problem, but everyone tried hard and did a great work after all.
Now I really look forward to diving with them in the sea next weekend.

Thanks guys for coming today. We have a week till next so get your study done and let's have some fun in the open water!!

今日はメチャメチャいい天気。これこそ沖縄にいる理由。

そんな天気がいいんだからもちろんダイビングしよう。と言うことで、今日はスクーバダイバーコースの初日を何と６人の生徒と行ってきました。
恩納村にある大学から来てくれたみんなは、カズミ、ジョナス、ジェロム、サンドラ、イライダ、サイモン。出身もフランス、アメリカ、イングランド、ベネズエラ、と、とても国際的なチーム。楽しみ楽しみ。

午前はクラスルームで勉強してきたことの復習。みんな研究者と言うこともあり、まあスマート。自分よりその分野に詳しい人に教えるって、何だかね。

昼前にはプールに移動し、早速基本スキルの練習。
大きなグループと言うこともあり、簡単に出来ちゃう人もいれば、悪戦苦闘する人も。そりゃそうだね。
でもみんな頑張ってくれて、最終的にはいい感じで初日を終えられました。良くやった！！

みんな今日はオツカレサマー。次は一週間後なので、それまでに勉強の方も頑張って。次のダイビングを楽しみにしてるよ。

今日は快晴・微風といった最高の天気の中、久しぶりの本島でのダイビング。行き先はもちろんケラマ諸島。

ゲストは大阪から、同い年３９才の二人、いまちゃんと西尾クンです。ちなみに自分も３９才、まさにサーティーナイナーズ。三人で一緒に写真撮ればよかったー。

今日は朝からサプライズ。ケラマに向かってる途中クジラを発見。どデカいしっぽが水中から飛びでました。
その後はみんなデッキに集合し、カメラ片手に再度現れることを期待するも、残念、どっか行っちゃいました。

去年与那国で知り合ったいまちゃん。ごっついカメラ持って色々撮ってました。

西尾クンは水中姿勢も綺麗で上手だなーと思ってたら、実は経験本数１０本ちょっと！センスがあるんだろうね。

今日の生物。ウミウシ数種類、カメ（タイマイ）、チンアナゴ、クマノミ５種類、デカいハリセンボン、カエルアンコウ、etc.

いまちゃん、西尾クン、今日はありがとうね。コンディションも大分良くなり、いい最終日になったかな？次はエモンズ、是非行こう！！楽しみに待ってます。

Today we went to Kerama island on such a beautiful day.

The guests were Ima-chan and Nishio from Osaka. They were both 39years old. Actually I am 39years old too, so should have taken a photo of us together.

The day started with a surprise. We saw a whale on the way to the island. So we grabbed a camera and stayed on a front deck to take a photo of her, but she never appeared again. It happens.

Ima-chan had a nice camera and was busy to take photos while Nishio was hanging around him.

Wee saw nudi branches, garden eels, hawksbill turtle, anemone fishes, a huge porcupine fish, frog fish, etc.

Thanks Ima-chan and Nishio for diving with us today. Hope you guys had a nice last day in Okinawa. And next time let's go to USS Emmons!! I look forward to it.

Now enjoy the last night in Okinawa!!

Time flies.
Yesterday was the last day of diving in this tour. It was such a good trip. I will miss diving in this amazing islands for sure.

In the morning, at the shop.
We decided to do last two dives to chase hammerheads. Fingers crossed for that!!

And there they were!! They were right underneath the boat as if they were waiting for us coming.

They came, disappeared, and came back. They kept doing that.

Safety stop.

After diving, we explored the island.
First, we went to the west end of the island which is the westernmost point of Japan.

Next, we went to the Awamori brewery to see the process of manufacturing Awamori. Awamori is the Okinawa local distilled liquor.

At night, the owner organised a party. Good time.

What a tour.

We saw lots of lots of hammerhead sharks. I would say we were very lucky about it.

The underwater monument was terrific. I had dove there before but every time I dive there, I can see it different way.

And a nice team. We had a such a nice group. Everyone was friendly, was seeking something fun all the time, etc. I will never forget the karaoke night, haha.

Also thank you very much for your help, Toyo from DEEP EMOTION. I wouldn't have made it without you.

Last of all, thanks to SouWes Yonaguni for their great hospitality. We wouldn't have enjoyed this trip this much without their support. I hope we will come back soon for another tour.

楽しい時はあっという間。
昨日はツアーの最終日でした。本当に素晴らしいツアーになりました。帰ったら絶対、この与那国でのダイビングが恋しくなるはず。

最終日のダインビングは、締めのハンマー狙いに。たくさん見てきたけれど、最後にもう一度見たい！

ポイントに着きエントリー。そして船の下では待ってましたと言わんばかりに、ハンマーのお出迎え。ウチら持ってるねー。ダイビング中ハンマー達は近づいてきては去って行き、またすぐに顔を出す、って感じでほぼずっと見れました。

ダイビングは午前で終了し、午後はせっかく与那国まで来たのでみんなで車２台に乗り込み、島観光に。

まずはおなじみ日本の最西端に。
そこで台湾方向を眺めた後は、泡盛工場で泡盛の製造過程を見学。さしずめ即席社会見学。
６０℃の泡盛をテイスティングして胸が熱くなった後は、景勝地等をゆっくりドライブしました。

そして夜はオーナー主催のグッバイパーティー。豚の丸焼きを出してもらい、飲んで、そしてもちろんカラオケして、大盛り上がり。ホントに楽しい最終日になりました。


あー、最高に楽しいツアーになりました。

まずこのツアーの最大の目的でもあるハンマーヘッドシャークは、運も見方をしてくれて本当にたくさん見れました。まだまだ見たいけど。

海底遺跡は圧巻の一言。何度見ても圧倒される。

そして何より素晴らしいメンバー。みんなフレンドリーで、いつも何か楽しい事を探していて、ホントいいチームでした。

後、色々助けてくれてありがとう、トヨ（DEEP EMOTION)。トヨの手助け無しではどうなってた事か。。」

最後にサーウェス与那国のスタッフのみんな、本当にありがとう。みんなのサポート無しではこのツアーもこんなに大成功に終われなかったはず。またぜひ来たいです。

Yeah Yeah!! We are still in Yonaguni island!!
Today was the 3rd day of the tour and the condition calmed down a bit, so we finally made it to Iseki, The Underwater Monument!!
Some say this monument is natural-made, some say it is man-made. No one knows the answer yet.

Ready for the adventure.

So excited.

On the east side of the monument, there are two big rocks standing parallel to each other. They are called "the Couple Rock".

"The Main Terrace".

"The Drain".

"The Triangle Pool".

We bumped into a turtle at the monument.

The monument was huge. We were totally overwhelmed by it. It was definitely worth diving there.

So now we have got one day, two dives to go. And we decided to chase hammerheads tomorrow to wrap up this fantastic Yonaguni diving tour. Can't wait!!

まだまだ与那国です！！
今日はツアー３日目。荒れた昨日に較べてコンディションもかなり落ち着き、ついに待ちに待った海底遺跡へ！！
自然に出来上がったものだ、と言う人もいれば、人工的に造られたに決まってると言う人もいます。その答えは誰も知らない。

いざ海底遺跡に着きエントリーすると、遺跡はそこに静かに、圧倒的な姿でたたずんでいました。実際その姿を目の前にすると、色々考えさせられます。考えてしまいます。何なんだろうね。
正門、二枚岩、メインテラス、側溝、三角プール、亀岩、等々、ポイントを見て回り、ホントその神秘的な姿に心を奪われる。
最後はオマケに亀まで登場してくれました。

いやー、また来たいっ！！

そしてそして、このツアーも残すところ後２日、ダイビングは明日の２本でおしまい。その締めくくりに選んだのはもちろんハンマーヘッド。
もっと見たい。もっともっと見たい。１００匹クラスの群れが見たい。見つけてやるー。
ではまた明日。

Good day everyone from the westernmost island from Japan!!
Today was the 2nd day of our Yonaguni trip and the schedule was three dives all for Hammerhead sharks!! We got our fingers crossed for that.

Unfortunately the weather turned to be cloudy and rainy, and also the sea got rougher than yesterday.

But the visibility was still good.

And there they were!!

More!! Sorry about the quality, but this one was a big group, probably more than 50 of them.

So far we saw them every dives.
It was sporty today especially exit, but really was worth diving. Hope we saw them a couple of more dives.
And tomorrow, The world famous Underwater Ruin!!

日本最西端よりこんにちはー。
今日は与那国ツアーの２日目。予定では３本全部ハンマーヘッド狙いです。幸運を祈ってのスタート。

天気は昨日とはうって変わっての曇り空。寒いです。海のコンディションも結構荒れてます。でも透明度は相変わらず抜群。綺麗な青が広がります。

そしてヤツらの登場！！ハンマー、ハンマー、今日も連発！３ダイブ全てに群れで登場。最大で５０匹くらいの群れもいたかな。なんて日だっ！

海は結構荒れてきてて、特に船に上がるときが大変だったけど、チャレンジした価値はあったね。今までトータル５ダイブ、オールハンマーゲット！！全てはお世話になってるダイビングサービス・サーウェス与那国サマサマ。もう１〜２ダイブは見たいなー。

そして明日は、あの海底遺跡に！！
はたしてあれは天然なのか人工なのか？乞うご期待！！

Yeeeeey!!! WE ARE IN YONAGUNI ISLAND!!!!

In the 1st dive, we dove at Double Arch for check-dive.

There they are!!!

There were so many of them. We actually saw a group of 30.

Also the visibility was very good.

And such a beautiful day.

We are gonna chase hammerheads again tomorrow. Can't wait!!



与那国到着！！
待ちに待った与那国ツアー。天気は最高、コンディションも最高、メンバーも最高ともうこの上ないスタートになりました。

ここ与那国では全てがドリフトダイビングと言う事もあり、１本目はちょっと水に慣れると言う事もかねてのチェックダイブ。綺麗なアーチで有名なダブルアーチと言うポイントへ。
さあ準備はオッケー。２本目３本目はいざハンマーヘッド探しに西崎（イリザキ）へ。ハンマーはいるのか？

いたいたいた！！右に左に、いるいるいる！！最後は３０匹くらいの群れも登場。
透明度も抜群でもうこの上ない初日になりました。

明日も３本オールハンマー狙いで。待ちきれない！！
