Today we went to the north for the deep wreck diving "USS Emmons".
USS Emmons was the American warship sunken during the World War 2. Its body is 100mtrs/300ft long and it has been sitting on the bottom in 40mtrs/130ft of the sea near Kouri island since then.
Now it is popular among the experienced divers.
Today's guest was Jennifer. She got a craving for Emmons.
I thought she might have been tired since it was her 4th day in a row, but she was not.
So we drove one hour and half to the north to see the huge wreck in the deep.
Once we left the port and got to the point, the current turned to be super strong. But our captain prepared ropes and everything so we made it down underwater while the other boat turned down. Thanks captain!!
The 1st dive was from the stern to the centre part.
Torpedoes in the stern.
Jennifer during the stop.
Unexpected Sashimi lunch from the local fisherman. Yammy!!
The 2nd dive was from the centre to the bow. The current got a lot weaker, phew.
Jennifer reading the memorial plates.
This is how big the Emmons is.
The anchor was bigger than her.
A closer shot.
Mooring line. Can't see the bottom.
We had great two dives to cover her entire body. It was just awesome.
On the way back, we passed the famous Kouri bridge. Look at the colour of the water.
And we bumped into the sunflower garden.
And wrapped up the trip with the best hamburger in Okinawa.
