We made it!!

Today we went to Kerama islands for fun diving.

The guests were, from the left, Chris from Gemany, and Grant and Tyler from US.

The sea was still rough actually, we somehow made it.
And the visibility was very good.

Here are some of the creatures we saw today.

This guy hides into the sand.

Nudie branches were everywhere.

Awesome!

And we bumped into a green turtle.

Thanks everyone for coming and diving with us today.
Although it was still wavy and a bit chilly, we had nice three dives with lots of stuff to see. Hope everyone enjoyed it.

And tomorrow we are going to Kerama islands again. Hope the sea gets calmer and the sun shows up in the sky!!



今日はケラマ諸島までファンダイビングに行ってきました。

ゲストは昨日に続いてのクリスと、アメリカからのグラントとタイラー、の計３人です。

正直海はまだ波が高かったけど、水中は透明度も良く、とても気持ちがよかったです。
そして今日出会った生物は、ウミウシホントにたくさん、ウツボ、砂に隠れるテンス、チンアナゴ、どデカいバラクーダ、アオウミガメ×２、モンハナシャコ、デバスズメダイの群れ、等々。みんなとても喜んでくれてました。

みんな今日はありがとう。船酔いもせずに頼もしい３人でした。
グラントとタイラーは明日気をつけて帰って。
そしてクリスは明日は最終日、何が見れるかなー？

Hello!!

Today we went to Motobu for fun diving.

The guest was Chris from Germany.
All good.

A lion-fish welcomed us.

And yeeey! We bumped into a blue ribbon eel!!
She was very shy so only her head was out of the sand.

We saw two frog fishes.
The first one. I took three shots of it but no one turned out to be real good.
Here we go.

Although the boat was cancelled due to the high waves, we had good beach diving, huh? Hope you enjoyed it.

今日は本部でファンダイビングしてきました。

ゲストはクリス、ドイツからです。

あいにくのコンディションのため、ボートがキャンセルになり、冬の定番ポイント北部まで車を走らせビーチダイビング。
いざエントリーすると、水はそこまで寒く感じず、ハナヒゲウツボ、カエルアンコウ×２、をはじめとした、なかなかアツい生き物達が見れました。
クリスにとっても今まで見たことない魚が結構いたようで、とても喜んでました。よかったー。

クリス、今日はおつかれさま。いいリフレッシュになったかな？
そして明日こそはケラマに行けるように祈りましょー。

Sawatdii khrap!

We are now in Thailand to check the Asian diving scene.
We will be joining a live-aboard trip at/around Hing Daeng island from 15th, so had a check dive at the island near Phuket today.

This one was very cool. You can go through inside and it was sitting down on the bottom of 25mtrs so you can have a long look of it. Emmons lovers would appreciate.

サワディーカップ！
今、タイに来ています。

今日は、本当の目的のあさってから始まるクルーズツアーに向けて、ちょっと近場でチェックダイブを２本してきました。

ポイントはプーケットからボートで１時間半どんぶらこ、の島。

今日は２本砂地のポイントで、沖縄に居そうで見ない魚達を見てきました。
そして２５mには沈船もあり、中も広くくぐれることも出来、とても楽しかったです。
沖縄にもこれくらい浅いとこにあるといいんだけどね。

そして何よりも、暖かいって素晴らしい！沖縄も早く夏が来ないかなー。

はい、そんなこんなで、１本目で気づいたら水没してたライトは置いといて、とてもリラックスしたダイビングでした。明後日からのクルーズが楽しみ！

Today we went to Manza for fun diving.

The guest was Meg from Nagoya.

She not only dives but surfs, plays golf and loves travelling overseas. Ver active.

The visibility was very good at Manza today, and nudie branches were still everywhere.

And A giant spanish dancer.

Also we saw three big sharks, napoleon fish, green turtle, etc.

今日は万座でファンダイビングをしてきました。

ゲストは名古屋から来てくれたメグ。久しぶりー。
彼女はダイビングだけでなく、サーフィンにゴルフ、そして海外旅行大好き、ととても活動的です。

今日の万座は透明度が抜群。
そんな中、相変わらずウミウシは爆発してました。特にどデカいミカドウミウシ（スパニッシュダンサー）には度肝を抜かれました。カメラよりもはるかにデカい。最初はナマコかと思ったさー。

その他にも、モンハナシャコ、戻って来たカマストガリザメx３、アオウミガメ、ウツボ、オランウータンクラブ、等々たくさんの生物と、あとは大人気のドリームホールにも入り、盛りだくさんの２ダイブになりました。

メグ、今日はありがとねー。
いい写真撮れたかな？また来てくれるのを楽しみにしてます。残りの滞在も楽しんでね。

Side-Mount Diving ~ Love It!!

Side Mount Diving Course Day 2 / サイドマウント講習 第二日

Today I had Side-Mount diving course Day 2.
We went deeper and did more complicated skills.

Inflating SMB orally.

Swimming along the drop-off.

My instructor, Taku, performing a perfect trim.
He is such a serious tech diver.

And a short clip of me cruising around. Still a lot to improve but it was so much fun.

So I completed the course and got certified. Nowadays I was the one who certified students so this sounded a bit fresh.

Thanks Taku-san for teaching me this new style of diving. I am now so into it and will spare time to do this as much as possible for sure.

今日はサイドマウント講習の２日目を行ってきました。

今日は少し深めに行き、昨日よりも多少複雑なスキルにチャレンジ。とは言っても、全てが新鮮で楽しい。ホント時間が経つのがあっという間でした。詳しくは↑↑の写真とムービー見てください。

はい、無事講習終了で認定されました。最近は認定する側なので、これも何か新鮮。ライセンスもらえる！って嬉しいね。

インストラクターのたくさん、二日間ありがとうございました。ホントに楽しく刺激的な二日間でした。次は一緒に潜りに行きましょう。

Side-Mount Diving

Side Mount Diving Course Day 1 / サイドマウント講習 第一日

Today I learnt Side-Mount diving.

Side-Mount diving is a different way to dive and is suitable for going through somewhere narrow like a cave.

Assembling the equipments. You usually use two tanks for Side Mount.

As the name "Side-Mount" says, tanks will be located on the side of your body.

And you can put tanks in front of you so that you will be able to go through a narrow cave..

No one was on the beach except for us. What a gorgeous day.

It was absolutely super fun! I will be addicted to it for sure.
And I have one more day tomorrow and we will go deep. Can't wait!



今日はサイドマウントダイビング講習を受けてきました。
サイドマウントダイビングとは、一般的なタンクを背中に背負うダイビングとは少し違い、その名の通り、タンクを“サイド(Side)に備え付ける(Mount)”スタイルのダイビングです。狭い洞窟とかを潜る時にはとても効果的です。
まだ余り日常的には見かけませんが、メキシコやアメリカの有名なケーブ（洞窟）ダイビングポイントでは大体これで潜ってます。

今日はとにかく器材に慣れることと中性浮力をとるトレーニングを重点的にしました。

いやー、ただただ楽しい。もうすっかり虜です。

そして明日は深場に行く予定。もう寝れないなー。遠足前の小学生の気分。
